I have another smoothie recipe for you today. This one is served warm, good for those cold mornings in winter.
Oatmeal Raisin Smoothie
1 T of gluten-free oatmeal
1 C of milk
1/4 C of raisins
1 small ripe banana
1 t clear honey
Stir the oatmeal and milk together in a small saucepan.
Place the pan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a soft boil.
Pour the heated mixture carefully into the blender.
Add the raisins, banana and honey to the blender.
Blend the mixture until all the ingredients are smooth.
Pour into a mug and serve.
Makes 2 servings
Milk contains tryptophan an essential amino acid. If the milk forms a skin in the pan go ahead and add it to the blender instead of skimming it off. The milk skin contains valuable nutrients and will mix in well with the other ingredients.
